Bruce McEwen
Managing Director
Bruce derived the concept for Courier Solutions after
working in the freight industry for 12 years and learning
every aspect of the business. He started in the freight
industry in 1984 loading buses for Mt Cook Lines,
then in various management positions in Freightways.
In 1994 PBT approached Bruce to help set up and manage
what is now called PBT Couriers.
After taking a break from the freight industry, he was drawn back in 1996 when he conceived the idea of managing the freight needs of companies after hearing the frustrations of clients regarding the customer service standards from courier companies; Courier Solutions was born.
Bruce is married with three children and has a passion
for fast cars and fast curries!! He enjoys watching
sport from the couch as well as getting into the gym,
on his road bike and out running. If you ever need a
copy of a magazine, Bruce is the man to ask, he buys
them all!!

Catherine Wood
Personal Assistant
Catherine joined the team initially in a maternity cover role which eventually rolled into a permanent contract. Catherine had spent several years in the freight industry in Auckland, before moving back to Christchurch where all of her family have always resided.
Catherine is a keen gardener, gets to the gym at least three times a week and always has a project on the go at her 140 year old cottage.

Angela Edwards
Finance & Administration Manager
Angela joined the Courier Solutions team in May 2009. With qualifications in accounting and human resources, she has vast experience in a variety of industries including exporting, retail, manufacturing, IT and the public sector.
Angela is excited about bringing fresh ideas to the finance team as well as the overall business, and contributing to what she sees as an already strong and successful platform. She describes the Courier Solutions environment as fun, motivating and professional and is looking forward to being a long term team member.
In her spare time Angela enjoys “pottering” around her home and spending time with her family.

Robyn Palmer
Credit Controller
Robyn joined the Accounts team in a temporary position to cover parental leave but recently accepted the permanent role of Credit Controller.
She brings with her vast experience in this role, most recently for a Christchurch hospital. Robyn compliments our busy Administration team and has adapted to the freight industry very quickly.
When not at work Robyn spends her time with family, friends and her young grandson.

Joanne Samson
Accounts Assistant
Joanne joined the accounts team in a temporary position to cover parental leave for Dayna Haywood.
Joanne has valuable experience within the trades and services sector including retail and importing. Being customer focused she looks forward to being part of an exciting, motivated team.
In her spare time Joanne is kept busy by playing 'taxi" driver for her two teenage children whilst renovating (demolishing) her house and garden in the ten year plan!

Robin Ngatoro
Rates Analyst ( Christchurch)
After thriving in a Customer Services role for 9 Months, and a successful 6 month stint in Sales Support, Robin has taken on the role of Rates Analyst which is an integral role within the business where he can put his efficient spin to an already elaborate structure.
In his personal time, he enjoys painting, writing music, playing his guitar, and is also training in figure skating.

Karla Hewitson
Customer Service Manager
Karla began her career with Courier Solutions as a Solutions Provider back in 2004 and since December 2007 has taken on the role of Customer Service Manager.
Her previous experience spans 10 years in the courier industry specialising in customer service.
In her spare time she hangs out with her daughter Shahlei, plays loads of netball, runs and enjoys reading a good book.

Alistair Joseph
Key Solutions Provider
Alistair started his career in the freight industry by applying for a job as a pushbike courier. The courier company suggested that he would be more suited to despatching couriers and so began his career. Since 1986 Alistair has experienced all facets of the industry including being a courier himself.
Looking to use his knowledge to full effect, he joined Courier Solutions. Since 2004 he has enjoyed getting amongst all the suppliers and thrives on making sure the freight “gets through”.
Away from the office Alistair is an avid armchair Rally driver in the winter and V8 Supercar driver in the summer. He is also a very one –eyed Cantabrian when it comes to rugby.
When he is not dreaming of going fast he enjoys spending time with friends and family

Ange returned in a part time capacity after parental leave having given birth to her second daughter r. Ange works with us two days a week.
It's great to have Ange on the team, she has a broad knowledge of the courier industry and is a valued team member.
Away from work Ange will spend any spare time she has with friends and family.

Lynne Tahapehi

Lynne have been involved in the courier industry for over five years and her previous work experience has been customer service based, a role she enjoys as she thrives on the contact with so many different people.
Lynne has survived the teenage years of her two grown daughters and still likes to support their sporting interests. Lynne is a keen crossworder, loves a good horror movie and spicy food.

James Rennie

James joins us from his recent experience at Christchurch airport where he worked both in the rental car industry and in airline passenger services. Working in the service industry has given him a strong perception of customer's needs and his can-do attitude and willingness to give things a go ensure the customer is given the priority they deserve.
James has a passion for aviation and keeps himself up to date with current affairs. When not at work he enjoys the outdoors, walking his dog Jess along the beach and spending time with family and friends.

Sarah Davies
Solutions Provider
Sarah’s most recent work experience was with one of New Zealand’s largest department stores where she held both customer service and administration management roles. With the birth of her son in 2005, she remained at the store in varying part time roles and prided herself on providing the most appropriate solutions for her customers; be they external or internal. With the focus here at Courier Solutions being customer driven, Sarah has fitted in very well and having been responsible for a team who were despatching orders she understands the importance of timely responses and movement of freight from a customer’s perspective.
Sarah works with us three days a week and when not at work is busy with her young son and family. She is looking forward to the start of her new home build project in the near future which will keep her non-working days very occupied.

Bridget Hughes
Customer Relations Manager
Bridget is the original employee of Courier Solutions and has returned after parental leave having given birth to her daughter Ruby in January 08. Bridget also has a son, Hunter who is 3yrs old.
Bridget has taken on most roles within Courier Solutions over the years and is lending her expertise to our sales team laising with our customers from our Christchurch base.
Balancing work and motherhood keeps Bridget on her toes but her amazing organisational skills mean that she even finds time to bake a cake now and then much to the delight of the team. Welcome back Bridget!

Liz Hazeldine
Sales Support ( Christchurch)
Liz joined Courier Solutions in the role of Sales Support Coordinator after a couple of years following the summers between New Zealand and the UK in support of her partner’s cricket career.
She has previously worked as a merchandiser whilst at university studying for a B.A in media.
